Closed beta. Invite only, free during the beta.
Dragon Wispr is in closed beta. Windows 10/11.
Anyone can install the app and sign in. Dictation works once your email is on the beta list, and the app tells you if it isn’t on it yet.
Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit
Checking for the latest beta build…
Invite only: you need an invite
You can download, install and sign in with any email address. To dictate, your email needs to be on our beta list. If it isn’t yet, the app tells you after you sign in. Not invited yet? Join the waitlist and we’ll email you when the beta opens to more people.
What you need
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
An x64 PC. macOS comes later.
A microphone
Built-in, USB or a headset. Whatever Windows can record from.
An internet connection
Speech-to-text runs in the cloud, not on your PC, so the app needs to be online to dictate.
Install
Download the installer.
One file,
DragonWispr_<version>_x64-setup.exe. If you like, check its SHA-256 against the one shown above.Run it.
It installs for your Windows user only, so you don’t need administrator rights. If Windows shows a blue “Windows protected your PC” screen, see the note on the right.
Open Dragon Wispr.
Start it from the Start menu. It keeps running in the system tray while you work.
First run
Sign in with your email.
We email you a 6-digit code. Type it into the app. No password.
Accept the Terms.
The app asks you to accept the Terms of Service before you dictate. You can read them first at dragonwispr.com/terms.
Hold Right Ctrl and speak.
Release the key and your text is on the clipboard, ready to paste with Ctrl + V. Turn on auto-paste in Settings to have it pasted into the app you’re in. Tap the key once for hands-free mode.
Nothing recorded? In Windows Settings, open Privacy & security, then Microphone, and make sure “Let desktop apps access your microphone” is on.
Updates and security support
We provide security updates for the Dragon Wispr desktop app until at least 31 December 2031, and in any case for as long as the Service is offered. Fixes are released for the latest released version of the desktop app, so please install new versions when we publish them: we email you about security updates, and the latest version is always on this page. Built-in, signed automatic updates are planned.
Found a vulnerability? Read our security policy and email security@dragonwispr.com.
